MARTIM AFONSO HOUSE

Text by scribe Valdemir Mota de Menezes

I live in Cubatao, but alive and lived most of my life in St. Vincent, where I work. I need not speak of the importance of St. Vincent in the historic setting of Brazil, as this was the first town in Brazil. Recently I was in the House Martim Afonso, who is in the center of town. Here is more than a museum, is an archaeological site, as there are residues sambaqui.

The historian who accompanies visitors told us that the city schools schedule guided tours so that students can get closer to subjects related to history. One of the pieces that caught my eye in the house Martim Afonso, was a stone with inscription ONE thousand five hundred little and that was part of the facade of a church.
